Notes and observations (musical coda)

No water, I don't care how pure the source is claimed to be, tastes better than that first glass of cold, fresh water after diving in salt water. As long as it's cold and clean, it's like tasting paradise.

Wikipedia. Is there anything it doesn't know?

I saw Tori Amos at the Orpheum on the 18th (although I started this post on the 17th...), and I really enjoyed the show. She started out slow, but she played various crowd favorites, including stuff from her new album, which I've been listening to a lot. Let's not get into how much. Anyway, after thinking about it, I find that American Doll Posse complements The Beekeeper. I liked The Beekeeper when it came out, but it didn't rank high among my favorite Tori albums. Now, when I listen to it as a prelude to American Doll Posse, I find that to my ear, it works much better than it did before. I can't really put my finger on why, but I think those two albums just go really well together, to the point where I don't like to play one without the other. It makes for a long Tori set list, but it's not like that's a problem.

It's singularly stupid to think to yourself, "Maybe I should put on my dive gloves," and fail to do so. I observe this from the vantage of having some weird fingertip irritation leftover from my dive last Sunday. Had I not thought about it, okay, fair enough. But to think it, and discard such good internal advice... that's just dumb.
